Soon, a leasing program for greenhouse farms will be launched in Armenia, namely within the framework of the project, the beneficiaries will be able to establish greenhouses and introduce modern equipment on favorable terms. The Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan stated during the meeting with the chairman of the agricultural association "Association of Greenhouse Farms" Artavazd Khachatryan, the director of the NGO Pogos Gevorgyan, deputy chairman of the Trade Union of Workers of the Agroindustrial Complex of Armenia Tirui Nazaretyan.
As the press service of the ministry told ArmInfo, the minister at this meeting noted that interest rates within this leasing program will make 4% per annum. "The program will be launched after its approval by the government of Armenia in June-July this year," he added.
According to the source, during the meeting, problems were discussed concerning small and medium-sized greenhouse farms, as well as proposals aimed at increasing competitiveness and development. The participants discussed the issues of payment by installments for gas in mountainous and foothill areas, and considered the possibility of extending the term of payment.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia also participated in the discussions. The representative of the Ministry of Energy, expressing readiness to provide the necessary assistance, instructed the responsible to develop a package of proposals and submit it for discussion at the PSRC.
