ArmInfo.Representatives of Armenian companies that carry out interstate non-scheduled passenger transportation require the abolition of the current procedure for the transportation of passengers to Russia. June 4 in the morning they gathered for a protest in front of the government building.
Protesters demand a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. "We are not going to discuss the matter with anyone other than the prime minister, because we believe that only he can solve our problem," they said.
As stated the protesters, in the field of passenger traffic in Russia and in the opposite direction of licensed organizations operate today, occupy a dominant position, their 6. At present they require to suspend or cancel the ban on the carriage of passengers in Russia without a license, which entered into force on 1 June. According to the current legislation of Armenia, a license for passenger transportation is provided to companies carrying out regular flights to and from Russia. Demonstrators also need to review the procedure for holding tenders - to establish equal conditions for all carriers so that small companies also have the opportunity to obtain a license and work in the legal field.
The meeting was held with the head of the office of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan Varag Siseryan and adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Georgi Muradyan. On June 6, they will meet with officials from the Ministry of Transport of Armenia.
