ArmInfo. In the event of an increase in the price of Russian natural gas, Armenia may begin negotiations on the supply of fuel from Iran. The minister of energy infrastructures and natural resources of Armenia Arthur Grigoryan expressed this opinion in an interview with journalists on June 8 after the meeting of the government.
The minister recalled that the current agreement with Russia on the price of gas ends in 2018. The agreement, he said, should be updated by the end of the year, but discussions will be held already in November. To date, the minister refrained from assessing the possible increase in the price of Russian gas, but noted that if Russia raises the price of fuel, it is possible that Armenia, in turn, will consider starting negotiations on the purchase of Iranian gas. "Armenia is interested in supplying cheap natural gas," the minister said.
To recall, earlier the minister first named the price for gas offered by Iran - $ 160 per 1,000 cub m., while Russia sells its product to Armenia for $ 150.
