ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan received today the US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills.
The minister told the Ambassador about the priorities of the country's agriculture development, emphasizing the need for state assistance to small farms, which constitute the main segment of the country. In this regard, the priority direction of the work of the Ministry of Agriculture in the short term will be measures to promote their strengthening. An important step in the future, the minister noted the need to stimulate small farms to unite on the basis of cooperation.
The interlocutors paid special attention to the program of irrigation of agricultural lands, the introduction of modern irrigation technologies, the formation of a single chain of the agricultural industry, the introduction of the insurance system for the agricultural sector and other issues.
