ArmInfo. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received KfW delegation headed by German Development Bank (KfW) Regional Director Olaf Zimelka. The sides discussed the opportunities for enlarging cooperation, the press service of the government informs.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Armenian government attaches importance to intensification and development of cooperation with the bank, taking into account the importance of the role of KfW assistance to different sectors of the country's economy. Pashinyan considers it necessary to ensure the continuence and efficiency of jointly implemented credit programs.
O. Zimelka, stressing that cooperation with Armenia contributes to the strengthening and development of the Armenian-German partnership, declared KfW's readiness to support this process. The sides discussed issues related to both current programs and those envisaged, in particular in energy, agriculture, infrastructure development and in sectors of mutual interest.
To, recall KfW is one of the major donors of Armenia. KfW's investments for the last 20 years amounted to about 510 million euros for 15 programs, including in the field of SMEs, agricultural sector, energy complex, ecology and in the financial and banking sector. Armenia's external debt to the Bank on January 1, 2018 amounted to $ 295,9 million (5,4% of the total external debt of the RA) with an annual growth of 47,7%.
