Armenian Ministry of Economic Development and WB representatives  discussed issues related to ensuring availability of financial  resources for SMEs

ArmInfo. Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Artsvik Minasyan received a delegation of the World Bank Group (WB), headed by the head of the mission on financial sector assessment Isfandyar Zaman Khan on July 6.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic  Development and Investment, during the meeting the parties discussed  issues related to ensuring the availability of financial resources  for the SME sector, and the inclusiveness of the existing tools.

Representatives of the World Bank reported on the work they are  currently doing jointly with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).  In particular, a working group of 17 people conducts an assessment of  financial health in Armenia.

The Minister presented the process of reforms in the investment  sphere, touched upon the issues of interaction between the state and  the private sector.

The parties also discussed tax legislation, as well as the  development of the financial, banking, capital markets, and  cybersecurity. Earlier, on July 4 Artsvik Minasyan received a  delegation led by Martin Grothe, Senior Economist on Tax Policy of  the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF representative stated  his readiness to assist Armenia in developing an "impressive" policy  for small and medium-sized businesses. Touching upon a number of  issues in the field of taxation, Martin Grot called the success of  the stability of tax policy the keystone of success, suggesting that  the country's economic policy be revised in accordance with the best  world experience.
