First Secretary of Embassy of India in Armenia: Economic relations  between our countries are not as developed as we would like

ArmInfo. The economic relations between India and Armenia are developing, but are not at the same level as we would like. On July 24, responding to the question of  ArmInfo on the margins of the 12th annual exhibition of Indian goods  in Armenia, said the first secretarial of the Indian Embassy in  Armenia Nikhilesh Mohan Dhirar.

"We are helping Armenia in implementing a number of programs. In  particular, the Armenian-Indian Center for ICT Excellence operates in  Armenia, a computer center in Vanadzor has been established. In  addition, there are a number of health programs. We hope that new  joint projects will soon be implemented in the educational sphere as  well, "he said. In this vein, Mr. Dhirar said that every year the  Indian government provides funding to about 40 young citizens of  Armenia for training in Indian universities.

Speaking of the exhibition, the first secretary noted that his  country's embassy is interested in organizing such events and  attaches special importance to the holding of exhibitions and  seminars.

In an interview with ArmInfo, the organizers of the exhibition-fair  emphasized that, in view of the high demand for Indian products in  Armenia, it was decided to extend the exhibition until August 5,  instead of the previously stipulated timeframe until July 22. Seeing  the increased interest of visitors, its organizers ordered an  additional product package. Annually, the proceeds from the sale of  Indian goods in Armenia at the exhibition-fair grow by 8-10%.

To note, this year the exhibition-fair of Indian goods is held from  10:30 to 21:00 at Mashtots Avenue 7a.  According to the organizers,  this year the exhibition will be held in November.  To note, RA  National Statistical service has no data on mutual trade between  Armenia and India.
