ArmInfo.The economic relations between India and Armenia are developing, but are not at the same level as we would like. On July 24, responding to the question of ArmInfo on the margins of the 12th annual exhibition of Indian goods in Armenia, said the first secretarial of the Indian Embassy in Armenia Nikhilesh Mohan Dhirar.
"We are helping Armenia in implementing a number of programs. In particular, the Armenian-Indian Center for ICT Excellence operates in Armenia, a computer center in Vanadzor has been established. In addition, there are a number of health programs. We hope that new joint projects will soon be implemented in the educational sphere as well, "he said. In this vein, Mr. Dhirar said that every year the Indian government provides funding to about 40 young citizens of Armenia for training in Indian universities.
Speaking of the exhibition, the first secretary noted that his country's embassy is interested in organizing such events and attaches special importance to the holding of exhibitions and seminars.
In an interview with ArmInfo, the organizers of the exhibition-fair emphasized that, in view of the high demand for Indian products in Armenia, it was decided to extend the exhibition until August 5, instead of the previously stipulated timeframe until July 22. Seeing the increased interest of visitors, its organizers ordered an additional product package. Annually, the proceeds from the sale of Indian goods in Armenia at the exhibition-fair grow by 8-10%.
To note, this year the exhibition-fair of Indian goods is held from 10:30 to 21:00 at Mashtots Avenue 7a. According to the organizers, this year the exhibition will be held in November. To note, RA National Statistical service has no data on mutual trade between Armenia and India.
