Overdue loans in Armenian banks by July 2018 increased by 3.2% per  annum

ArmInfo.The volume of overdue loans in Armenian banks as of July 1, 2018 amounted to 35.4 billion drams ($ 73.5 million), an increase of 3.2% in the annual  section.  Simultaneously, the volume of prolonged loans, having  decreased by 6.9% over the year, amounted to July of this year. 108.3  billion AMD ($ 224.5 million). For the II quarter, overdue loans  increased by 7.6%, while growth was prolonged by 9.9%.

The share of prolonged and overdue loans by July 2018. was 3.76%  (against 4.70% a year earlier and 3.62% a quarter earlier) and 1.23%  (against 1.39% a year earlier and 1.21% a quarter earlier).

In the portfolio of overdue loans, 36.3% accounted for long-term  loans, and the remaining 36.7% - for short-term loans, the absolute  value of which was respectively 22.4 billion and 13 billion drams.

In the extended loans, the lion's share falls on the short-term -  68.7% or 74.4 billion drams, while the share of the long-term loan  accounted for 31.3% or 33.9 billion AMD.  According to the Central  Bank of Armenia, the total volume of bank lending increased by July  2018 at 5.8% per annum, amounting to 2.876 trillion. ($ 5.9 bln),  having also increased by 5.8% in the second quarter. Without taking  into account the prolonged and overdue loans, the credit investments  of the Armenian banking system amounted to 2.732 trillion AMD ($ 5.6  bln), having increased by 17.7% in the annual section, and only in  the II quarter - by 5.6%. (The calculated exchange rate of the dram  to the dollar as of 30.06.18 is 482.24 AMD / $ 1.)
