ArmInfo. Russian President Vladimir Putin was surprised by the fact that in Armenia, which receives gas from Russia at a relatively low tariff, the price of blue fuel for consumers is quite high, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in conversation with journalists in Tavush.
He noted that after learning about this, the Russian leader noted that he had specifically ordered to reduce the gas price for Armenia in order to ease the social burden of the country's population. "He even remembered that he took this decision during his trip to Gyumri," Pashinyan said, presenting the details of the conversation with Putin. In this light, the two heads of state agreed to develop mechanisms to reduce tariffs for blue fuel for the Armenian consumer.
At a meeting with Pashinyan in Moscow, the Russian leader noted that Armenia receives gas from Russia at the lowest prices in the world. He also stressed that Russia is the largest investor in the Armenian economy. "And if everything continues this way, then the economic cooperation of the two countries will rise to a new higher level," the Russian leader said.
To note, the price of Russian gas for Armenia costs $ 150 for 1000 cubic meters, while the consumer receives it at a price of $ 280.
