Gagik Mkrtchyan: Armenia actively participates in the development of  a project to create a Eurasian jewelry brand

ArmInfo. Armenia takes an active part in the development of an integration project to create a Eurasian jewelry brand, which is export-oriented. This is in conversation with the correspondent. Gagik Mkrtchyan, advisor to the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, informed ArmInfo.

According to him, this issue will be the subject of discussions  during the III International Exhibition Forum "Eurasian Week", which  will be held in Yerevan on October 22-24. In order to implement the  project to create a Eurasian jewelry brand, a working group has been  formed. Gagik Mkrtchyan reminded that on September 15, 2017 the  Eurasian Economic Commission sent proposals to the members of the  Eurasian Economic Union on this integration project, the main purpose  of which is the growth of exports from the EAEU countries of diamonds  and finished jewelry. The task of the project is to define the  specialization and cooperation schemes between the countries of the  Union. An example of a possible specialization may be the extraction  of raw materials in Russia, the refining of precious metals in  Kazakhstan and Russia, the provision of tolling raw materials from  Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, the manufacture of semi-finished  products in Russia, Belarus, fastening and sending for export -  Kazakhstan, cut - Armenia, Belarus , creation of design - Armenia,  Russia, development of marketing and development strategy - head  office.

Taking into account the existing proposals, the advisor to the  minister continued, it was suggested to develop an organizational and  substantial plan for the development of the project. "It is very  important that countries that represent different cultures, religions  and history will work under the same brand," Gagik Mkrtchyan said,  expressing confidence that the project implementation will stimulate  the development of jewelry and faceted spheres in Armenia, exclude  all obstacles and barriers on exit to export markets.  To note, on  the eve of the Council of ECE instructed the Board of the Commission  to develop an integration project to create a Eurasian jewelry brand.  The ECE Collegium will prepare a road map for the development of the  project "Creation of a Eurasian jewelry brand, export-oriented". It  is supposed to form and register the trademark "Eurasian brand" for  promoting joint products to third countries.
