According to experts, the observed decline in the production of aluminum foil is due to the entry into force of new US sanctions, which is why the foil produced in Armenia lost the American market.
Recall that in early April, the United States introduced new sanctions against Russia by including a number of large Russian businessmen and companies under its control in the so-called "black list" (SDN list), in particular Oleg Deripaska and the En + Group, GAZ Group controlled by him, "Basic element "and" Rusal ". The Yerevan Foil Rolling Plant "RusAl Armenal" was created by the company "Rusal" in May 2000 on the basis of the Kanaker Aluminum Plant. It is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Armenia and the only producer of aluminum foil in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Together with the factories SAYANAL, "Ural Foil" and "Sayan Foil" forms the Packaging Division of RUSAL. Production was exported to the USA (47%) and Germany (29%), as well as to Poland (7%), Netherlands (5.3%), Canada (3.4%).
