ArmInfo.The Asian Development Bank (ADB), jointly with the Central Bank of Armenia, organized an Asian regional forum on "Managing International Reserves" in Yerevan. As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, the opening of the forum took place on October 23, and the closure is scheduled for October 24. The Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Artur Javadyan and the Vice Chairman of the ADB in the area of finance and risk management Ingrid van Wees made an opening speech.
A. Javadyan, having welcomed the guests, highly appreciated the partnership with the Asian Development Bank and expressed gratitude for the support in organizing such an important forum. He stressed that the forum provides ample opportunities to discuss effective ways to manage international reserves in the context of current challenges. The head banker of the Republic of Armenia expressed hope that the forum would become a platform for establishing various business contacts. On behalf of the Asian Development Banks, representatives of central banks, the ministry of finance and other state financial structures from 26 countries, as well as from 7 supranational and international organizations take part in the forum.
Topics discussed at the forum: the development of the world economy, the impact of monetary policy on the management of international reserves and asset allocation, the concept of risk management, in particular the assessment of volatility and the sensitivity of reserves to changes in interest rates, exchange rates and assets. The forum also provides for discussion of issues related to the impact of international and regional development on the issue of government bonds, and the impact of banking and financial market regulation on bonds circulating in the primary and secondary markets. Significance will be given to increasing the investment attractiveness of high-rated bond issuers for central banks, state-owned investment funds and other institutional investors. The topic "The importance of high technology in the aspect of security and operational risk management" is subject to separate discussion. Leading experts of the Central Bank of Armenia, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will make presentations at the forum.
