ArmInfo. In order to protest against the new tax regulations, the restaurants of Armenia will close their doors for one day. The corresponding message was published on the page of the Restaurant Union of Armenia in the social network Facebook.
According to the information, during the next meeting of the initiative group, the members of the Union decided to send another letter to the Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
Representatives of the restaurants made another important decision:
all restaurants, as a preliminary warning, will close their doors for one day in protest against the new tax system. "Our decision is absolutely devoid of any political nuances, aimed solely at protecting business interests and signals dangerous developments that could disrupt the normal course of economic development. It was taken as a result of the inaction of the following state bodies: RA State Revenue Committee, RA Ministry of Finance "Our proposals are set out in detail during the meeting held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia," the report said.
When it is planned to hold a protest action, and what proposals the initiative group voiced during a meeting with the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, they were not specified. According to the previous tax regulations, catering facilities with an area of the customer service hall of not more than 600 sq. M. taxed on preferential grounds. The rest are taxed in a general manner. The tax code of September 2016 lowered the bar to 100 sq.m. Following the results of studies and conversations with representatives of the sphere, the government decided to until July 1, 2018, to restore taxation on preferential terms for catering facilities with an area of up to 600 sq.m.
However, on July 1, 2018, the field was fully transferred to the "turnover tax" field. The proposed rate of turnover tax for the sphere is 10% of the turnover, at the same time allowing the business entity to withdraw from the obligation 6% of the documented expenses, but not less than 4% of the turnover. "Thus, if the company's revenue for the quarter was 10 million drams, 10% of the amount, that is, 1 million drams will be its obligation on turnover tax.
However, if the organization operates with a 25% yield - 7.5 million is the cost of the company and all costs are documented, then 6% of these 7.5 million drams - about 450 thousand drams will be deducted from 1 million drams. In fact, for him the real volumes of his tax liabilities will be about 5.5% of turnover, " Deputy Minister of Finance, now the head of the SRC David Ananyan. As Ananyan assured that, despite the fact that innovation creates more onerous conditions for the taxpayer, they should not lead to an increase in prices in the catering system. Already after the new regulations came into force, Deputy Finance Minister Arman Poghosyan told a correspondent of ArmInfo that as a result of the transfer of public catering facilities from the simplified tax regime to the turnover tax regulation field, consumers should not expect an increase in prices. "Despite the fact that the economic entities of the sphere are talking about a possible increase in prices, it seems to me that - the prices will not be increased. Our research shows that the sphere functions with high profitability. In this case, in terms of paying taxes by 2-2.5 % more due to the revenue received, should not lead to higher prices "
