ArmInfo.Head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia David Ananyan still refrains from commenting on the level of tax collection for the year 2018. However, according to the chief tax officer, he is satisfied with the work of his department in the past year.
According to Ananyan, the year 2019 has just begun, and it is premature to assess the level of collection for 2018. "We will announce the figures in a few days, when we summarize the data," he explained.
At the moment, Ananyan is refraining from indicating whether the tax collector's planned tax collection indicator has been met. "Let me just say that if inflows in 2017 and 2018 are compared, we can say that we exceeded the program indicator by 15%. At the same time, if the indicator for VAT returns for 2017 was 67 billion drams, then already in 2018 it was 97 billion drams. In addition, if as of January 1, 2018, the overpayment indicator was 133 billion drams, by the end of December it was 70 billion drams (the balance on the treasury account is 48-49 billion drams), "he explained. In the current year, as Ananyan noted, there will be no need to collect overpayments, but "there will be only an imperative for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations". In general, as the head of the tax and customs authority pointed out, he is satisfied with the work of his department in the past - 2018 year. It should be noted that in 2018, according to the approved budget, the state treasury tax revenues should be 1,255.8 billion drams or 20.3% of GDP. In 2019, tax revenues and state fees will make 1.401.8 billion drams.
