ArmInfo. There is a great potential for expanding production volumes by the processing enterprises of Armenia. This is stated in the government program posted on gov.am website.
According to the source, the government of the country intends to focus its efforts on the formation and development of the production and distribution chain of the processing industry, which will make it possible to expand existing production facilities, increase export volumes, and provide employment in both existing and related industries. The executive body intends to conduct research to identify and remove all existing obstacles to the development of the processing industry. These studies are needed to find appropriate solutions in order to determine the targeting of government assistance in this area. The government will also discuss opportunities to increase the competitiveness of existing processing plants and the development of new technologies. If necessary, the rules established in certain sectors of the processing industry will be revised.
Measures will be taken to develop standards for certain segments of the market for recycled products, which will significantly simplify business conditions and expand opportunities in these markets. Special attention will be paid to supporting export-oriented investment programs. Facilitating the promotion to the markets of other countries, simplifying tax and customs legislation will support such investment projects.
To note, since last year, the state program of assistance to the processing enterprises of the republic started in Armenia. The total cost of the program is 18 billion drams. We are talking about state subsidies for the process of harvesting fruits and vegetables. Of the 12% of credit funds, 9% are subsidized at the expense of the state budget. Thus, enterprises receive loans at a rate of 3%, which are sent exclusively to procurement of products on the basis of concluded contracts. Moreover, the funds immediately receive the farmers, not processors. After completing the necessary documents, the peasants receive credit resources for 10 days, for which the procurers pay. This makes it possible for the peasant to have guaranteed financial resources, and the processor the necessary base for raw materials.
