ArmInfo.Deputy Minister Artak Kamalyan met with the senior economist of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the Middle East and Central Asia region Seohyun Yun at the RA Ministry of Agriculture to discuss the main directions of the country's agricultural development.
According to the press service of the department, Kamalyan briefly presented the goals and projects envisaged by the government program. The Deputy Minister called the formation of a land market, the development of infrastructures, the introduction of an agricultural insurance system, the attraction of investments, and an increase in the production of poultry farms as key tasks in the sector. At the same time, he stressed the importance of the development of vocational education and the system of providing advisory services.
During the conversation, the parties raised issues related to the degree of effectiveness of programs implemented with the assistance of the state, support of international structures.
To note, according to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2018 the gross agricultural product showed a decline of 7.3% to 926.4 billion drams.
