ArmInfo. Economy ministers of Iran and Azerbaijan, Farhad Dezhpasand and Shahin Mostafayev, agreed on the eve of concluding bilateral monetary, financial and banking agreements, on developing joint economic cooperation, and in particular on completing the North-South corridor.
About this reports the agency IRNA.Referring to the inadequate speed of implementation of some joint projects between Iran and Azerbaijan, including the final stages of the Resht-Astara railway project, Dezhpasand proposed to create a delegation to monitor the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries, which was welcomedthe Azerbaijani side.
At this meeting, the Iranian minister also called for the conclusion of a bilateral monetary and financial agreement and the development of banking cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, saying: "Our cooperation in this should correspond to the level of political relations between the two countries." The Azerbaijani Minister of Economy also welcomed the proposals of the Iranian side on the monetary and banking agreement and expressed readiness to complete the remaining parts of the Resht-Astara railway project.
