ArmInfo. President of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Artur Javadyan has departed for Basel, Switzerland, to take part in the international conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Financial Stability Institute (FSI).
According to the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia, during the conference, participants will discuss issues related to the development of technologies, supervisory systems, global banking standards and corporate governance.
According to the source,the CBA President is scheduled to have a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of partner structures and Swiss-Armenian business circles.
To note, the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) was jointly created in 1998 by the Bank for International Settlements and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Its mandate is to assist supervisors around the world in improving and strengthening their financial systems. The Bank for International Settlements is the oldest international financial institution, which was founded in 1930 in Basel as part of an intergovernmental agreement between Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, the United States and Switzerland. The Bank promotes monetary and financial stability by promoting international cooperation. The members of the Bank for International Settlements are 60 central / national banks.
