ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan received a delegation led by the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program Dmitry Mariyasin.
Dmitry Mariyasin invited the minister to discuss a broad agenda of issues that are under the coordination of the Ministry, to find common approaches and points of contact. According to him, for this purpose it is necessary to hold periodic meetings with representatives of the Ministry, since it should be one of the key partners of UNDP.
Minister Tigran Khachatryan, at the request of the guest, presented the economic priorities of the five-year program of the government, long-term goals, touched upon promising areas of the economy, which have the greatest development potential. The parties touched on the formation of a competent comparison of supply and demand in the labor market. During the meeting, the directions of the sustainable development goals of Armenia were presented, in particular, the further application of the Travelinsights tool launched on the eve. Tigran Khachatryan discussed with the UNDP delegation opportunities for cooperation in the development of tourism in order to diversify the tourism product, improve the quality of services provided and develop infrastructures.
UNDP activities were also presented in the direction of developing regional and rural tourism, emphasizing initiatives to involve the local population in the processes. The parties also touched upon the role of the Tourism Committee in the development of regional tourist centers.
It was agreed, through periodic discussions, to turn to individual sectoral programs, as well as on-site to familiarize and discuss the development prospects of some regional programs.
