ArmInfo. Having survived a transitional period of more than two decades, the Armenian economy faces the imperative of developing the competitiveness of the national economy and improving productivity. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, speaking on April 1 at the international economic symposium entitled "Modeling economics and politics for optimal development."
According to Avinyan, the re-evaluation of the role of science, innovations and technologies, as they are fundamental components of economic growth and development, is important in achieving the desired result. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, from the point of view of innovative business, Armenia has achieved success by creating clusters for the provision of precise engineering services and programming. Tigran Avinyan stressed that Armenia still has a long way to go, but on this path the republic should not enter the "race" with developed countries, but try to stand out with progressive ideas and innovations. In this regard, the consistent development of human capital will play a key role. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, to achieve these goals, it will be necessary to introduce new tools, and in the development and implementation of public policy to take a knowledge-based approach.
