ArmInfo.Fifty thousand jobs, which have been much spoken of lately, include both new and those that have been derived from <shadow>. Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan announced this at a press conference.
Thus, according to the minister, in 2018, 4-5 thousand jobs were created as part of investment programs that took advantage of the state support tools in the form of a number of tax incentives. New jobs, outside the framework of these programs, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, account for one-fifth of fifty thousand, the rest are those that have moved from the "shadow" to the legal field. Thus, according to the minister, in January-April 2019, the Armenian government released 15 companies from customs duties. As part of these investment programs, an investment of $ 153.5 million and the creation of 960 new jobs are planned. Four investment projects made it possible to postpone the payment of VAT: within the three years they announced, they promised to invest 15.87 billion drams and create 282 new jobs.
In total, 57 investment programs with an expected investment of 2.7 billion dollars are presented to the government for discussion. Of these, 38 programs were recognized as realistic and short-term (by about $ 1.2 billion), another 19 - programs of a long-term nature (by 1.5 billion). The programs mainly concern the energy sector (6 programs worth $ 396 million), the processing industry (12 projects worth 1022.4 billion dollars), infrastructure projects (4 projects worth $ 170 million), construction (14 programs worth 699 million dollars). ), tourism (4 programs worth $ 192 million) IT (4 programs for 54 million dollars).
To recall, a week earlier, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page during a live broadcast today turned to statements he made, in particular regarding the fact that more than 50.000 jobs were created after the revolution in Armenia. "He stated several times that after the revolution, about 50 thousand workplaces were removed or created from the shadows in Armenia. When I published this data from the PACE rostrum, a lot of various public statements were made that questioned this figure. When even the State Revenue Committee (SRC) made a corresponding explanation, similar statements continued to be heard. I have instructed to prepare a certificate in order to find out in which specific areas these jobs have been identified or created, "the premier noted. According to him, the first version is that these were workplaces operating in <shadow>, and after the revolution they were simply withdrawn from the <shadow sector>. <But, of course, there are also new jobs here, the differentiation of this number will require a deeper analysis, but these subtleties are not so significant at the moment. It is significant that the number of registered jobs in Armenia, compared with January 2018, in January 2019 in Armenia increased by 50.141>, the premier explained.
