ArmInfo.FRV Masrik company invests 28bln AMD in the construction of Masrik-1 solar power station in Armenia. At the meeting, the RA government exempted the company from paying VAT on imported equipment and raw materials.
According to Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan, it is planned to commission a solar generation facility with a capacity of 55 MW in 2020. The minister added that earlier the executive body had already exempted FRV Masrik from paying VAT on imported equipment and inventory worth 23 billion drams. The current decision of the government is aimed at solving problems with the remaining amount of 5 billion drams. As a result of the program implementation, 10 new jobs will be created with an average salary of 130 thousand drams. To recall,on March 29, the RA government gave the go-ahead for the sale to the FRV Masrik company of 32.6 thousand hectares of land for the construction of an industrial solar power plant. On December 29, 2016, it was decided to build and operate a solar power station with a capacity of 55 MW in the community of Mets Masrik, Gegharkuniq region of the Republic. The government of the country proposed that the head of the community, after the decision entered into force, amend the land schemes within two months, indicating the energy, transport, communications and utilities infrastructures. After completing these procedures, within 10 days enter into an agreement with the investor. At the same time, all the costs of notarial and state registration of property rights to impose on the company. In case of improper use of land within six months within one year, ensure the targeted use of agricultural land. It should be noted that the FRV Masrik company, created by a foreign consortium, will build the Masrik-1 industrial power station in the Mets Masrik community of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia. The tender for the construction of the station "Masrik-1" with a capacity of 55 MW was won by a consortium of the Dutch company with Spanish roots Photowatio Renewable Ventures B.V and the Spanish FSL Solar S.L. which, in turn, founded the company "FRV Masrik" in Armenia. All the necessary infrastructural conditions for the construction of a modern powerful photovoltaic station have been created in the selected area, which will produce 120-150 million kW / h of electricity and will provide 2% of the total energy produced in the country. According to estimates of specialists, the construction of the Masrik-1 will amount to 55 million euros, but there is no official announcement about the amount of investment in the construction of the station. The total cost of the program for the construction of solar power plants in Armenia is $ 129 million. In total, it is planned to build solar stations with a capacity of up to 110 megawatts in various regions of Armenia. Of the 6 surveyed locations for two, the Spanish consulting company Aries Engineering has already submitted feasibility studies. They relate to the Masrik (Masrik-2) areas in the Gegharkunik region and Dashtadem in the Aragatsotn region, and research is continuing on the other four areas.
