ArmInfo. On June 14, the regular meeting of the interdepartmental commission on the evaluation of applications for subventions for the development of social infrastructures and the economy of communities was held in the Armenian government headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
As the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister's office reports, during the meeting, out of the 63 submitted, 60 program requests for attracting subventions were approved. The total cost of the programs is 2.5 billion drams, of which 1.5 billion drams is co-financing from the state budget.
Approved programs include asphalting intercommunal roads, improving water supply and irrigation systems, overhauling kindergartens, purchasing multi-functional agricultural and community equipment To recall, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that 5 billion drams was planned to be allocated for the subvention in 2018.
But, taking into account financial problems, the prime minister proposed to allocate 10 billion drams from the amounts recovered as a result of corruption revelations. Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development reminded that from the beginning of the current year the procedure for granting subventions was revised. If earlier community programs were fully financed from the state treasury, today the community is obliged to participate in the financing of the program.
"According to the new order, the government and the community are jointly funding local development programs. Now the community decides which program should be implemented as a priority," the ministry said. Thus, since the beginning of 2018, when implementing infrastructure programs, 40% of its cost is funded by communities, 60% - by the government. In the case of social implication programs, 40% is financed by the government, and 60% by the community budget.
