ArmInfo. Small aircraft did not develop in Armenia due to lack of motivation. Such an opinion during a press conference on July 15, answering the question of ArmInfo, the head of the Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation Tatevik Revazyan said.
"When I first entered the GDCA, I had a question - for 30 years we have been talking about developing small aircraft, but why then doesn't it develop? Then it became clear that within the country there is no particular motivation for the development of the sphere. Because, firstly, it is more dangerous to fly on small planes than on Boeing, and secondly, it is a "headache" to maintain it, including from the point of view of control over the sector. Therefore, the state chose to close and not return to this topic>, she said.
In this vein, the head of the Office stressed that it is necessary to settle, first of all, the legislative base for the development of the sphere. In this vein, Revazyan stressed that because of legislative gaps in Armenia, it is impossible to even register small aircraft. "We have already prepared a proposal for the operation of light aircraft weighing less than 450 kg. And at this stage we are negotiating with the private sector, " Revazyan said. In this regard, she stressed that there is interest, although the area does not provide for high incomes. "We need to find, involve and interest people who love small aircraft, Armenia and are ready to do it. And, fortunately, there are such people, "she said, saying that 2 small aircraft had already been registered. "We want the sphere to develop, and we will do everything possible for this," she said.
