ArmInfo. In Armenia, in the first half of 2019, the service sector increased volumes by 15.3% per annum - up to 905.4 billion drams ($ 1.8 billion), against 18.1% growth a year earlier. According to the RA Statistical Committee, in June alone, the volume of services provided increased by 3.8%, amounting to 168.1 billion drams ($ 351.2 million).
During the reporting period, a slowdown in the y-o-y growth in the volume of services provided was recorded in the following areas: culture - from 33% to 30.1%, healthcare - from 24.5% to 17.4%, real estate - from 9.9% to 4.7%, information and communication - from 7.3% to 4.8%, transport - from 12.3% to 3.7%, administrative and support activities - from 21.5% to 11%, professional, scientific and technical activities - from 20.1% to 4.2%, in the financial sector (including insurance) - from 18.2% to 15.9%. At the same time, acceleration in the y-o-y growth in the volume of services provided was recorded in the following areas: catering and tourist accommodation - from 25.1% to 33.8%, culture - from 29.3% to 34.8%. In the field of education, the y-o-y dynamics of the volume of services provided unfolded from a 2.4% decline to a 7.9% growth.
According to statistical data, the field of culture, entertainment and recreation leads in the volume of provided services - 217.5 billion drams (24% of the total). The financial services sector ranks second in terms of services - 197.4 billion drams (21.8% of the total), with the lion's share ensured by banks. The third place is occupied by the field of information and communication - 124.5 billion drams (13.7%), the main burden being on the telecommunication segment. The fourth place is occupied by the transport sector - 104.7 billion drams (11.6%). The top five in terms of the volume of services provided is closed by the catering and tourism sector - 73.6 billion drams (8.1%).
The average settlement rate of dram in June 2019 amounted to 478.47 AMD/ $ 1, and in the first half of 2019 - 484.16 AMD / $ 1, against 482.62 AMD/ $ 1 in June 2018 and 482.04 AMD / $ 1 - in the first half of 2018 .
