ArmInfo. Ararat-cement CJSC decided to suspend the construction of a cement mill in the Armenian city of Kapan. This is stated in the message of the Board of Directors of the Multi Group concern, which includes the Ararat Cement Plant.
According to the source, it was planned to build a cement mill in the city of Kapan. In accordance with the procedure stipulated by the legislation of Armenia, in order to build the enterprise, it was necessary to conduct public discussions, the conduct of which has been opposed by local public organizations and residents for two years now. "The board of directors of the Multi Group concern, taking into account the opinion of the owner of the concern Gagnka Tsarukyan about the need to take into account the wishes of people, decided to suspend the process of building the enterprise," the Board of Directors said in a statement to ArmInfo.
It should be noted that this decision of the Board of Directors followed after the arrest by law enforcement bodies of the general director of the concern Sedrak Arustamyan. On September 19, the RA Investigative Committee charged Sedrak Arustamyan with financial fraud during the construction of the North-South road. The total damage to the state as a result of abuse is estimated at more than 2 billion drams. Recall that the Multi Group concern belongs to Gagik Tsartskyan, a well-known Armenian entrepreneur, leader of the Prosperous Armenia party and the faction of the National Assembly of the same name.
