ArmInfo. WCIT 2019 Organizing Committee announced the names of speakers at the opening ceremony of the 23rd World Congress of Information Technologies 2019, which will be held in Yerevan.
According to the press service of the forum, at the opening of WCIT 2019, on October 7, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will make an opening speech, Yvon Chiu, chairman of the World Alliance of Information Technologies and Services (WITSA) and Alexander Yesayan, chairman of the organizing committee of WCIT 2019, president of the Union of Advanced Technology Companies (UATE).
This year, the World IT Forum <WCIT 2019> is dedicated to the topic <The Power of Decentralization. Prospects and Risks>. The conference will discuss in detail how information and communication technologies positively and negatively transform our lives, what impact they have on profit and wealth, reliability and security, democracy and humanity.

The Armenian government declared IT a strategic direction of economic development. The country's legislation creates favorable conditions for foreign direct investment in the IT sector. Consistent efforts are being made to promote high-tech innovation, the development of ecosystems and startups. About 45 percent of IT product exports go to the USA and Canada, 25 percent to Europe, 11 percent to Asia. In Armenia, there are about 900 ICT companies, including the world famous Picsart, Renderforest, Softconstruct, Joomag.
WCIT 2019 will be held in Yerevan on October 6-9, 2019. The Congress is held by Armenia with the assistance and under the high patronage of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) was established by the World Alliance for Information Technology and Services (WITSA). Its main organizational body is the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE).
