According to him, at the beginning of 2019, export growth slowed, and then began to recover confidently. Thus, according to official data, over the 8 months of 2019, product exports reached $ 1,660 million, an increase compared to the same period of 2018 amounted to $ 73 million. As a result, according to the Ministry of Economy, the annual increase in Armenian exports will be about 7%.
According to Khachatryan, over the reporting period, export of blister copper decreased by $ 51mln from the republic, which is associated with the shutdown of a smelter in Alaverdi. The export of aluminum foil also decreased - by about $ 6 million or 8% to $ 67 million. Export of processed diamonds, electricity and locally-made clothes fell - over 8 months, exports fell by 31% or $ 16 million to $ 36 million. In total, these goods exported fell $ 145 million.
At the same time, exports of plant products, in particular, cucumbers and strawberries, increased. During the reporting period, the increase amounted to about $ 7 million or 15.3% - up to $ 53.5 million. At the same time, the export of animal products fell by $ 1 million or 3.6% to about $ 30 million, which was due to a reduction in the export of small cattle - approximately $ 3 million.
The export of unprocessed copper concentrate increased by 2.5% to $ 9.1 million. Brandy export also boasts growth - by $ 19.6 million or by 16.7% to $ 137 million, cigarettes - by 4.1% or $ 6 , 3 million - up to $ 161 million, and raw gold - by 39.4% or $ 43.6 million to $ 154 million.
