ArmInfo. The construction of a new customs clearance point in the north of Armenia will be fully completed in late October - early November. David Ananyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), announced on October 15 at the meeting of the Standing Parliamentary Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Issues during the discussion of the report on the execution of the state budget for the first half of 2019 According to him, it was originally planned that the new customs house will begin its activities on October 11, but for objective reasons, these dates had to be postponed. In particular, if according to the plan it was planned to build a new customs clearance on an area of 800 square meters, now we are talking about 4.5 thousand square meters, which, according to David Ananyan, has become a challenge for builders. Nevertheless, the head of the SRC assured that in early November buildings and structures on an area of 6 hectares will be ready. The new house will become part of the project to create centers of foreign economic activity with a total area of 21 hectares, the construction of which will be fully completed within 1-3 years. "Since yesterday, the new customs house began to serve customers. And if earlier 40-50 cars were registered daily, then since October 14 this figure increased to 120. With the completion of the project in Gyumri, it will be possible to service up to 300-400 cars a day, and after creation of the two centers of foreign economic activity - up to 1 thousand cars a day, " the head of the department said.
