ArmInfo. On October 17, a meeting on donor coordination took place in the Government of Armenia, chaired by RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, whose goal was to emphasize the possibilities of the influence of science and innovation on the development of the Armenian economy.
According to the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the meeting was attended by representatives of government agencies, embassies, international organizations, the Science and Technology Foundation of Armenia (FAST) and private companies.
During the meeting, Tigran Avinyan emphasized that the government is committed to transforming Armenia into a high-tech country and creating a favorable investment environment and a progressive innovation ecosystem for this purpose. According to him, the government intends to create such conditions that Armenia would be ready to absorb advanced global knowledge, the economy would be able to move to the next technological level, thanks to which the country would become a country - producer and exporter of high-tech goods and services.
At the donor coordination meeting, a program of key importance for the government was discussed, which will be implemented in cooperation with the Science and Technology Foundation of Armenia. The goal of the program is to stimulate the development of innovation, science and technology in the region. The implementation of the project will be of great importance for the strategic development of Armenia in terms of promoting the areas of national security, science and education, and agriculture. The program, implemented by the government and the Science and Technology Foundation of Armenia (FAST), is still under development.
"The purpose of the meeting was also to attract the international community to ensure the competitiveness of the project," the report said.
