ArmInfo. According to the results of 9 months of 2019, the net profit of the banking system of Armenia amounted to 60.9 billion drams or $ 128 million. The annual growth of this indicator slowed down to 17.7% from last year's 81.3%. According to the Express Ranking of Banks of Armenia prepared by ArmInfo IC as of September 30, 2019 for the Q3 alone net profit growth turned out to be meager - 0.8%, which is nevertheless better than the dynamics of the same quarter of last year, when a decline of 6.9% was recorded.
By October 1, 2019, the assets of the banking system reached 5.4 trillion drams or $ 11.3 billion, slowing down annual growth slightly - up to 13.9% from last year's 15%. In the structure of assets, the lion's share falls on credit investments and other loans - 62.5% or 3.4 trillion drams ($ 7.1 billion), with a y-o-y growth of 17.2%. And the share of investments in securities amounted to 12.4% or 668.1 billion drams ($ 1.4 billion), with a y-o-y growth of 15.7%.
By October 1, 2019, the total liabilities of the banking system reached 4.6 trillion drams or $ 9.6 billion, the y-o-y growth of which slowed to 14.7% from last year's 16%. Their structure is dominated by obligations to customers - 69.7% or 3.2 trillion drams ($ 6.7 billion), the volume of which increased by 18.5% year on year.
By October 1, 2019, the total capital of the banking system reached 818.6 billion drams or $ 1.7 billion, having increased by 9.4% year on year (against 10% growth a year earlier). Authorized capital dominates - 63.4%, and the accumulated profit accounts for 25.3%, against 64.3% and 23.2%, respectively, a year earlier. The accumulated profit accelerated annual growth to 19% from last year's 15%, reaching by October 1, 2019 206.9 billion drams or $ 434.7 million. The authorized capital grew by 7.9% year on year to 519.2 billion drams ($ 1.1 billion), and the acceleration of growth (from last year's 6%) was provoked by 6 banks that replenished their capital, 4 of which in the current year.
The level of capital adequacy (N1 - min 12%) decreased year-on-year slightly - from 29.08% to 28.9% on average in the market, total liquidity (N2 / 1 - min 15%) - from 32.1% to 31.99%, and a decrease in current liquidity (N2 / 2 standard - min 60%) was noticeable - from 190.42% to 174.07%. As of October 1, 2019, TOP-3 are: in terms of assets and credit investments - Ameriabank, Armbusinessbank and Ardshinbank; obligations to customers - Armbusinessbank, Ameriabank and Ardshinbank; total capital - Ameriabank, Ardshinbank and ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank; net profit for 9 months - Ameriabank, Ardshinbank and Armswissbank.
