According to him, in 2015, "Asa Garment", led by Italian businessman of Armenian origin Gagik Sarukhanyan together with "Alex Group", founded SATEX company in Armenia, which is engaged in the textile industry. In 2018, thanks to this cooperation, the construction of a new factory in Yerevan, which was commissioned 2 months ago, began. Currently, the company employs 400 people, and in the next 2 years this number will be increased to 2500 employees. 7 production lines operating at the enterprise will be replenished with another 33. The average salary of employees is so far 100 thousand drams, but in the next 1.5-2 years it will increase to 170-180 thousand drams. According to Aghabekyan, the company produces products of leading world brands, exporting it to Italy, from where it enters the entire European market. Products are not sold on the territory of the republic, which is the requirement of the customer. The main task of the company's management is to create a culture through which products with the Made in Armenia sign will become recognizable in the world. The company is currently collaborating with brands such as Gloria, Sarton, etc.
In the spring of 2020, the company will open another enterprise in the city of Artashat for the production of towels and other home textiles. About 1.5 thousand people will be employed here.
The volume of investments in the creation of production is not disclosed.
To recall, back in March of this year, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the opening of a textile factory in Yerevan with 3,000 jobs. He said this in parliament during the discussion of the report on the progress of the government program.
