ArmInfo.In Armenia in January-2019 electricity generation amounted to 5,650.6 mln kWh, having decreased by 2.2% y-o-y (against growth by 0.5% a year earlier), but only in September decreased by 8.8% to 642.9 million kWh.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in January-August 2019, TPPs reduced electricity generation by 5.9% per annum to 2,361.2 million kWh, while hydroelectric power stations, by contrast, increased by 7.1% to 1 957.1 million kWh. Armenian NPP cuts power generation by 7.9% to 1319.6 million kWh.
During the reporting period, 19 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy were generated, with a y-o-y decline of 29.1%. During the reporting period, wind power plants generated 2.5 million kWh of electricity and solar - 10.2 million kWh, which is respectively 2.3 fold and 2.7 fold more than the y-o-y indicator.
It should be noted that the electricity generation in Armenia in 2018 amounted to 7 .776.9 million kWh, with a y-o-y growth of 0.2%. TPPs increased electricity generation by 17.5%, hydroelectric power stations - by 2.2%, ANPPs - by 10%. Wind power plants reduced electricity production in 2018 by 9.5%, while solar power plants, in contrast, increased production by 12.8 fold.
