ArmInfo. RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by Secretary General Enzo Quattrociocche. This is stated in the official statement of the government.
As the EBRD Secretary General noted, the main purpose of the delegation's visit is to study the possibilities of Yerevan to hold the Bank's annual meeting in 2021.
Tigran Avinyan noted that the success of Francophonie Summit in 2018 and the World Congress on Information Technologies show that Armenia is ready and has all the necessary infrastructures to host the participants of the annual meeting of the Bank at the highest level.
According to the report, the annual meeting of the EBRD brings together delegations of countries, representatives of business communities and other guests to discuss the institutional issues of the structure. At the same time, there is also a business forum and a special investment meeting regarding the host country.
To recall, EBRD is a major international institutional investor. Since the beginning of its activity in Armenia, EBRD has allocated 1.36 billion euros to the country's economy to implement 178 programs in the energy, infrastructure, financial and corporate sectors. 90% of the Bank's investments are in the private sector
