The volume of cargo transportation in Armenia for 9 months of 2019  decreased by 52.2% per annum, with an increase in passenger traffic  by 4.6%

ArmInfo.The volume of cargo transportation in Armenia in January-September 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year decreased by 52.2% - up to 10  364.2 thousand tons. Of these, 6 703.9 thousand tons (64.7% of the  total) fell on road transport, which decreased by 63.3% year on year.  This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistics Committee.

According to statistics, rail freight for the reporting period  increased by 7.7% - up to 2,321.7 thousand tons, air cargo by 9.2% -  up to 14.2 thousand tons. 1 was delivered via the main pipeline 324.4  thousand tons of natural gas with an annual growth of 6.2%. Cargo  turnover increased by 9.5% to 3,434.6 million ton-km.  Passenger  traffic during the reporting period increased by 4.6% - up to 143 351  thousand people. In particular, road transport by 4% - up to 121  864.7 thousand people. At the same time, passenger transportation by  electric transport increased by 5.6% to 18 399.9 thousand people,  railway - by 11.5% to 334.6 thousand people. and air - by 27.9% to 2  751.8 thousand people.

Passenger traffic increased by 7.9% - to 2,021.3 million  passenger-km.
