ArmInfo.Tariffs for roaming with Artsakh from July 2020 will again be reduced. Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan announced this on December 18 at a press conference.
The Minister recalled that earlier tariffs had already been revised. So, tariffs for incoming and outgoing calls decreased by 11-14%. "From July 1, the cost of incoming and outgoing calls will be reviewed, we will inform about this later," the minister said, without specifying how much the tariffs will be reduced.
Earlier, on August 8, head of the Committee for the Regulation of Public Services Garegin Baghramyan said that work is underway to further reduce roaming tariffs between Armenia and Artsakh. "The tariffs are high, we will periodically reduce them. There is already an agreement that from January 1, 2020, a gradual significant reduction in tariffs will be carried out with a frequency of six months: the first reduction on January 1, 2020, then from July 1, 2020 and another one from 1 January 2021, "Baghramyan said. He said that at the moment a conversation has already been held with the monopoly operator in Artsakh - Karabakh Telecom.
In addition, as Baghramyan pointed out, the price of pairing the network will also decrease by 1 dram per year. "The goal is to achieve the prices that are between operators in Armenia," Baghramyan said, adding that a single pricing system will be created. According to the head of PSRC, negotiations will continue in the near future to establish a schedule and determine the period by which a single pricing policy between operators should be introduced. We are talking about the period after 2021, the head of the regulator pointed out.
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier that the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh have agreed that from January 1, 2020, with a periodicity of six months to January 1, 2021, roaming tariffs between the two countries will be reduced. Internet access and data transfer services will become cheaper somewhere by 50%, then - up to 65%, SMS - by 65% and 75%, respectively. On August 1, the tariffs for outgoing (38 drams instead of 45 drams) and incoming (25 drams instead of 45 drams) calls provided by Beeline and Ucom companies decreased, and for SMS - 40 drams instead of the current 60 drams.
