As a result, the AMD to the dollar from December 16 to 20 compared to the previous week began to weaken - from 477.3 to 478.8 AMD/ $ 1, tuning in to revaluation against the euro - from 533 to 532 AMD / 1 euro, remaining at the same level against ruble 7.6 AMD / 1 RUB. A year earlier, on December 20, 2018, the dram / dollar exchange rate was 484.5 AMD / $ 1, the euro was 550 AMD / 1 EUR, and the ruble was 7.2 AMD / 1 RUB, which in comparison with current rates indicates the annual revaluation of dram to dollar and euro, with devaluation against the ruble.
As the Central Bank of Armenia press service told ArmInfo, from December 16 to 20, dollar transactions in the amount of $ 7.5 million were carried out at the foreign exchange interbank market at an average rate of 478.33 AMD / $ 1 (against 478.14 AMD / $ 1 a week earlier). Having worked on a daily basis during the reporting week, the foreign exchange interbank showed maximum volumes of dollar transactions on Wednesday and Friday - $ 2.7 million and $ 2.2 million, respectively. In parallel with this, in the domestic banking market compared to the previous week, buying up the dollar accelerated growth from 8.8% to 24.3% when the sales trend changed from 4.7% decline to 2.8% growth, buying-selling the euro turned the vector from a 12.4-7.9% decline to a 6.2-33.3% increase, and on ruble transactions, buying changed its dynamics from a 8.3% decline to a 4.5% growth while accelerating the decline in sales from 0.7% to 22%. As a result, $ 142.7 million was bought at an average rate of 476.94 AMD / $ 1, 17.2 million euros at an average rate of 529.87 AMD / 1EUR, and 2.3 billion rubles at an average rate of 7.60 AMD / 1RUB, and sold $ 113.5 million at an average rate of 478.38 AMD / $ 1, 37.2 million euros at an average rate of 533.86 AMD / 1EUR, and 937.1 million rubles at an average rate of 7.68 AMD / 1RUB.
According to the source, from December 9 to 14, Armenian banks issued dram loans for 70 billion drams and dollar loans for $ 40 million.
