Armenia and UAE discussed further work of Armenian-Emirate  intergovernmental commission

ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, as part of a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, met with Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates,  co-chair of the Armenian-Emirate intergovernmental commission, Ahmed  Ali Al Sayegh.

According to the press service of the head of state, the parties  touched on the agreements reached during the first meeting of the  Armenian-Emirate intergovernmental commission. The UAE State Minister  presented the completed practical steps and upcoming actions.   President Sarkissian noted that the intergovernmental commission is a  practical tool and an important platform for identifying and laying  on a solid foundation new opportunities for bilateral relations in  many areas.

According to the source, the parties also exchanged views on the  upcoming work of the Armenian-Emirate intergovernmental commission.

It should be noted that, according to the RA Statistical Committee,  the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the UAE in  January-November 2019 decreased by 41.8% to $ 97.4mln. In particular,  the decline in exports by 26.5% to $ 51.1 million was accompanied by  a decrease in imports by 52.7% to $ 46.3 million.
