ArmInfo.The signing ceremony of the agreement on the creation of the TUMO Youth Creative Development Center in Berlin took place today in Yerevan. The agreement was signed on- line between the Yerevan office of TUMO and the Berlin office of the German Development Bank KfW.
The Center will be located in the western part of Berlin, in the historic Charlottenburg district. It will open its doors in October this year, providing free tuition to 1200 students. The event was attended by members of the governments of Armenia and Germany, ambassadors accredited in the two countries, representatives of international organizations, as well as the leaders of the Tumo Center and KfW Bank. Welcoming those present, RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated that "we are witnesses of an event that proves that the modern world has no borders, the country's geographical position or wealth of natural resources, potential, idea, human mind has no borders>.
As Ingrid Hengster, board member of KfW Bank, stated in her speech, the education sector is in the focus of their attention: "Supporting education is one of KfW's top priorities. This innovative project with TUMO aims to disseminate digital education in countries where KfW has partnerships. Only by learning from each other can we really succeed in this digital age. Therefore, I hope that in Germany we will find many partners for the implementation of this project>.
Tumo Berlin students will specialize in 10 areas of the program: programming, animation, film production, graphic design, 3D modeling, game creation, music, painting, photography and robotics.
Speaking about the specifics of the educational program, the director of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies Marie Lou Papazian noted: .
Berlin is the next international destination for TUMO. The program is already operating in Paris and Beirut and plans to open centers in Moscow, Tirana, Tokyo and other cities of the world.
