ArmInfo.  Until the end of March 5, the issue of the transportation of Iranian goods by Armenian wagons through the territory of Georgia will be resolved. The  Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan  announced this at a government meeting on March 5.

According to him, the initially announced number of trucks  accumulated on the Armenian-Georgian road was somewhat overstated.  According to the information available to the Ministry, at present  20-30 trucks were "hanging" on the border, which were sent through  the territory of Georgia to the Verkhny Lars checkpoint in Russia.  "By the end of this day the issue will be settled," the minister  assured.

It should be noted that on March 3, information appeared that in  order to combat the coronavirus, the Georgian authorities detained  about 60 Armenian trucks with Iranian goods. According to the Prime  Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, expressed by him  the day before in the country's parliament, an agreement was reached  with the Georgian leadership on the issue related to the  transportation of Iranian goods by Iranian wagons through Georgian  territory. He noted that it was agreed that the following transit  trucks in Georgia will be accompanied, and if the receiving party  does not mind, then the cars will reach their destination. "We have  already established that the receiving party does not impose new  conditions for the reception of goods. Thus, cars with Iranian goods  will be able to reach their destination. The thing is that our  colleagues would not like if third countries do not accept these  trucks, cars were accumulating in the territory of Georgia,  "Pashinyan explained.
