ArmInfo.Yerevan Municipality has announced an open tender for the acquisition, installation and maintenance of 500 new elevators in 10 administrative districts of the capital.
The press secretary of Yerevan Mayor Hakob Karapetyan wrote about this on his Facebook page. <According to the technical characteristics of the competition, the dimensions of the elevator and other parameters should be adapted for people with reduced mobility, for the same purpose the buttons on the elevator dashboard will be at the appropriate height (900-1200 mm)>, Karapetyan noted. As previously reported, almost 70% of the elevators operating in Yerevan have been in operation for more than 40 years, while they should have been replaced 25 years ago. According to the metropolitan city hall, the social significance of the problem and guaranteeing the safety of citizens involves the replacement of 3,500 elevators. In this case, a complete replacement of the fund will be made at the expense of borrowed funds. The pilot program started last year, and involved the replacement of 20 elevators in 10 administrative districts of Yerevan.
