Nikol Pashinyan: You need to be ready to take advantage of economic  opportunities that arise in the post-crisis period

ArmInfo.Despite the fact that we going through a difficult time, I believe that we should do everything it is possible that our organization does not interrupt  for a second the usual rhythm of its work.

On April 10, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a video  conference as part of a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental  Council. He emphasized that one must be prepared to take advantage of  all those economic opportunities that obviously arise in post-crisis  period. Pashinyan noted that he welcomes the international meetings  at all levels in video format.

Pashinyan said that according to the situation as of March 10, 937  cases of infection were recorded in the country, 149 recovered and 11  deaths. According to him, in the vast majority of those infected, the  disease is mild, almost asymptomatic. , he noted. The Prime Minister  expressed confidence that the EAEU member countries are obliged to  coordinate their efforts in the fight against the virus.

The prime minister said that, unfortunately, we are directly on the  verge of a recession.

The Prime Minister also noted the need to ensure conditions for the  uninterrupted implementation of freight traffic. , he said.

According to Pashinyan, it is necessary to accelerate measures to  increase the share of payments in national currencies in trade within  the EAEU> I am sure that it is necessary to strengthen our Union even  in the face of a pandemic and serious challenges to the growing  recession. In this regard, we support the joint statement presented  by the Secretariat of the members of the Supreme Eurasian Council,  which is consistent with our vision of the main tasks for cooperation  between our countries in connection with the pandemic>, the Prime  Minister of Armenia emphasized.

Pashinyan also expressed Armenia's readiness to host the next meeting  of the Intergovernmental Council this fall. "I would like to hope  that by this time the pandemic will be overcome," the prime minister  concluded.
