Suren Papikyan presented the Armenian position on the pricing of gas  transportation services on the EAEU market

ArmInfo. The Armenian side proposes to be guided by the principles of transparency, impartiality and ensuring equal conditions when developing a policy for setting  tariffs for gas transportation services on the EAEU market.

On April 15, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the  Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan stated this at a remote meeting of  the working group of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission  (EEC) on pricing gas transportation services on the EAEU common gas  market, in which interested heads of departments of the EAEU member  states took part.

According to the press service of the department, Papikyan noted that  a settlement aimed at creating a common energy market should be based  on mutually agreed approaches and common goals, in order to ensure,  especially in post-crisis situation, conditions for economic  stability and future development of the EAEU and its member  countries.

During the meeting, an active discussion began on the proposals of  the heads of the responsible departments in the energy sector of the  Union member countries.

According to the report, the agreed proposals on the pricing of gas  transportation services will be submitted for approval by the EEC  Council with a view to their inclusion in the draft document  Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic  Integration until 2025>.

To recall, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan sent a  letter to Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management  Committee, with a proposal to start negotiations on reducing gas  prices due to the negative impact of coronavirus on the country's  socio-economic development. At the same time, Yerevan offers Moscow  the opportunity to pay in national currency, that is, in rubles.  Armenia buys gas from Russia at $ 165 per 1,000 cubic meters, while  Armenian consumers pay Gazprom Armenia $ 290 per 1,000 cubic meters.
