ArmInfo. The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia is preparing a new list of products of social and economic importance for consideration by the EAEU for temporary reduction or zeroing of customs duties amid importing from third countries. Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Varos Simonyan announced this during a press conference on April 15 at the Unified Information Center.
According to him, the implementation of this initiative will stimulate production and industry and, ultimately, will have social significance. At the moment, as the deputy minister noted, there are active discussions with the business community to form this list, in particular, to identify those products, raw materials, components that are essential in production processes.
To recall, within the framework of the Eurasian Commission, a decision has already been made that is common to all member countries to zero customs duties on imports from certain countries of certain types of food - various cereals, potatoes, etc. A similar decision was made on medical-type products - protective equipment against coronavirus, hygiene products, certain medical equipment.
