A number of organizations see the need to maintain 3 telecom  operators in Armenia

ArmInfo. In the event of a possible consolidation of telecom operators, one of the main  strategic risks is the issue of information security of the RA, while  with three strong telecom operators this risk is reduced and / or  neutralized.

This is stated in the official statement of the Asparez  Journalists Club, the Vanadzor office of Helsinki Citizens Assembly,  the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center and open  society foundations.

In particular, the latter call on the Commission for the Protection  of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia to maintain the  presence of at least three mobile operators, which will make it  possible to ensure the country's information security, economic  competition and technological development, as well as to exclude the  possibility for one owner to have more than one telecom operator.  At  the same time, in the appeal of the organizations, it was proposed to  set telecommunication operators with requirements that would  contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of services  and increase their accessibility for the entire population in the  Republic of Armenia both in technical, technological and financial  terms.  According to the source, this call is open for joining.

To recall, the Veon Armenia company, which owns the Beeline brand,  officially announced on its website negotiations with the Armenian  company Ucom on the sale of its business in the republic. At the end  of December last year, it became known that Beeline in Armenia  applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission in order to  obtain permission to sell its shares to Ucom. "These discussions may  either end in a sale or not. In accordance with regulatory  requirements, VEON will provide updated information if any," the  message said.  Meanwhile, a few days ago it became known that the  Yesayan brothers, who left Ucom, founded a new telecommunication  company "OLNET", which will provide innovative digital  telecommunication services to Armenian consumers.
