Armenian government will assist Yerevan Municipality in solving the  problem of acquiring new vehicles

ArmInfo.The Armenian government will assist the Yerevan Municipality in resolving the issue of acquiring new vehicles. On May 6, the Deputy Prime Minister stated  this from the rostrum of the Parliament, answering the question of  the NA deputy Ani Samsonian.  According to the Deputy Prime Minister,  negotiations on this issue were conducted with the European Bank for  Reconstruction and Development, which agreed  to provide  Armenia   with a loan of 25 million euros for the purchase of 100 modern buses.  At the suggestion of the EBRD, a tender is already being held to  accelerate the purchase of 100 buses for Yerevan with a length of 12  m, with a low platform adapted for people with disabilities. The  Deputy Prime Minister noted that the funds will be provided within  the framework of previously approved programs.

"After temporary complications caused by coronavirus infection, we  finally announce a tender for the purchase of buses. A tender for the  purchase of 100 buses announced by the Municipality of Yerevan has  been published on the official page of the European Bank for  Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).  We are planning to purchase  100 buses with an engine for the competition operating on natural  gas, 12 meters long, with a low platform adapted for people with  disabilities, the best international standards of which are carefully  developed and presented in the tender akete, "the mayor of the  Armenian capital Hayk Marutyan noted earlier. The tender will be open  until June 12, 2020.

It should be noted that several of these buses have already been  tested in Yerevan, causing increased interest of passengers. On  December 25, 2019, during a regular meeting of the Council of Elders  of Yerevan, the Vice Mayor of Yerevan Sergey Harutyunyan announced  that about 850 buses are required for the new network and it is  planned that they will be delivered in stages.
