ArmInfo.Armenia, and not Armenian airlines, is on the EU's "black list". On June 5, an MP from the Bright Armenia faction Gevorg Gorgisyan stated this at a briefing in parliament.
The MP noted that all this is a consequence of the irresponsible and illiterate work of the Civil Aviation Committee (CAC). <It became apparent that the CAC was not able to ensure the necessary safety rules. The head of the structure, Tatevik Revazyan, transfers responsibility from herself to the previous authorities. I am sure that if the Prime Minister listened to the advice of his adviser Hakob Jagaryan (who have resigned - Ed. note), we would be able to avoid a similar situation. But, as a result of the criminal negligence of Tatevik Revazyan, we are on this list>, Gorgisyan emphasized.
He stated that the information that one of the Armenian airlines was delivering weapons to African countries was also untrue. <This information is groundless and not true. Such statements harm our state interests>, - said Gorgisyan.
The lawmaker also noted that some experts noted that with proper work after 6 months Armenia will be able to leave this "black list", but Tatevik Revazyan, for some reason, says that it will take two and a half years.
It should be noted that air carriers that have received certificates in Armenia are included in the "black list" of the the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The restricted list included all companies certified in the Republic of Armenia: Aircompany Armenia, Armenia Airways, Armenian Helicopters, Atlantis Armenian Airlines, Atlantis European Airways, Mars Avia, Skyball.
According to the report, the EU aviation safety list not only ensures the maintenance of a high level of security in the EU, but also helps airlines to increase flight safety. The list has also become an important preventive tool, as it encourages countries with security problems to take appropriate measures before it becomes necessary to include them in this list.
