SRC: In Jan-May, State budget`s tax revenues increased by 2.2% per  annum

ArmInfo. In January-May 2020 the RA State budget's tax revenues, despite the situation with the pandemic, increased by 2.2%, amounting to 583.6 billion drams. This was announced on June 12 during a press conference by the Deputy Head of the Department of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of  Armenia (SRC) on tax audits Arthur Hakobyan

At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the increase in  tax revenues was achieved, including against the background of an  increase in the amount of funds to be returned to taxpayers. In this  context, Hakobyan said that for 5 months of 2020, a total of 47.4  billion drams were returned to taxpayers, which is 18% higher than  the indicator a year ago. "The growth rate of 2.2%, to a large extent  is due to the consequences of the spread of the pandemic and is far  from our expectations," the representative of the SRC emphasized.

In particular, in this regard, he said that in April, a decline was  recorded in terms of VAT - by 16%, which had the most significant  effect on the activities of economic entities due to restrictions; in  May - by 24%, in terms of income tax - by 3 billion AMD, turnover tax  (for the Q1) - by 7%, however, only in April the number of jobs  decreased in Armenia - by 12 thousand.

At the same time, in Q1 of 2020, according to Hakobyan, a thousand  large taxpayers of the Republic of Armenia increased payments to the  state budget by 11% to 245.6 billion drams. In this regard, he  emphasized that the growth was achieved not due to the 5 leaders, but  a uniform increase in tax payments from all taxpayers. <For example,  payments by the taxpayer who finished last on this list increased by  10%. This suggests that over a given period of time, economic  activity was nevertheless observed in all areas and industries>, he  said.
