Cargo transportation across the Armenian-Iranian border returns to  its natural course of work

ArmInfo.Cargo transportation across the Armenian-Iranian border returns to its natural course.

As ArmInfo was informed in the press service of the State Revenue  Committee (SRC) of Armenia, according to the Commandant's decision of  June 11 of this year, from June 12, international cargo  transportation through the Meghri checkpoint on the Armenian-Iranian  border returns to its natural course of work.

In particular, during cargo transportation of any kind of goods  between Armenia and Iran, there is no longer any need to reload them  at the Iran-Armenia checkpoints. In addition, coordination and  control by the RA police on the movement of Iranian trucks through  the territory of Armenia is no longer required.

It should be noted that Armenia limited air and land communications  with Iran at the end of February this year, due to the difficult  epidemiological situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic in  Iran. The restrictions did not apply to cargo transportation,  however, they were carried out with strict observance of all  anti-epidemiological measures.
