The 20th meeting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission  on economic cooperation will be held in Armenia

ArmInfo.The twentieth meeting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will be held in Armenia in the second half of 2020. A similar agreement was reached following a video meeting of the  co-chairmen of the Armenian- Russian intergovernmental commission for  economic cooperation - deputy prime ministers of the Republic of  Armenia and the Russian Federation - Mher Grigoryan and Alexey  Overchuk.

According to the Armenian government, in this regard, the co-chairs  decided to give instructions to the relevant state departments to  formulate the agenda of the next meeting and ensure the effective  implementation of the already approved events.

It is reported that during the meeting Mher Grigoryan and Alexey  Overchuk discussed current issues on the bilateral cooperation  agenda. In particular, the parties touched upon cooperation in trade,  economic, industrial, transport, energy, humanitarian and financial  sectors. Mher Grigoryan expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation  for the assistance provided to the healthcare sector of Armenia, to  which Alexey Overchuk noted that Russia will continue to support the  RA in the fight against the pandemic.

It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee,  the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Russia in  January-April 2020 amounted to $ 636.4 million with a y-o-y growth of  2%, while exports fell by 11.3% to $ 174.1 million, while imports  grew by 8.1% to $ 462.3 million.
